The “Gulayan at Halamanan ng Sta. Lucia” is a prominent area in the barangay which grows a variety of plants that mostly serve as food and offer medicinal uses.
According to Kagawad Elisa Baturiano, the people in the barangay are encouraged to cultivate their own backyards. The barangay also implements 2-phase clean-up activities in a week, with Monday-Wednesday-Friday being Phase I, and Tuesday-Thursday-Friday being phase II.
The city hall even conducts experiments regarding the different types of trash in the barangay so they can evaluate how to sort them out. Further, it promotes waste segregation and health campaigns, wherein they aim to implement waste segregation next year.
